Strong Beer Festival

  • Okere Falls Store

Praise the monks! The Okere Falls Strong Beer Festival is back in true German style over Queen’s Birthday Weekend! Join us for two amazing nights of beer-tasting, bonfires, and live music Saturday, June 3rd and Sunday June 4th 2017 from 5pm each night.

In winter, when it’s still too cold to enjoy a lager or pilsner, the beers of choice are dark, strong, malty & warming. These beers were first produced during the ‘Strong Beer Season’ (Starkbierzeit), a tradition begun by 17th century Paulaner monks brewing what they called ‘Holy Father Beer’ (Sankt Vater Bier).

For the best experience we recommend coming with a friend or two and tasting your way through our Strong Beer Passport including a stunning line-up of fantastic beers - dark and malty to flavour packed IPAs. Ciders and Wines and non-alcholic drinks will also be on sale.
